Jesus, I trust in You! because who else on this earth will lift me, a lowly and sinful creature, up to the heights and glory of Heaven—Your merciful and loving arms alone are as an elevator between earth and Heaven.
And yes, it feels a long distance to travel (especially by elevator, though this is better than a steep stairway), but I am to believe that the shortest distance--the littlest way--from earth to Heaven begins at the foot of the Cross, then up to the wound in Your side and on through there to Your Most Sacred Heart. Jesus, I trust in You and You alone to lift me up and to be with me every moment of this most blessed journey, this little way.
Jesus, I trust in You! by Your grace grant me the humility to accept myself as I am, even as I am little and poor with shortcomings and imperfections. Grant me also the faith of a little child which you have deemed as so necessary to enter the kingdom of Heaven. With the faith of a little one, may I surrender myself daily into Your arms; for I know that if I do not surrender, then my feet, along with the rest of my being, will stay put on this earth and sink into the mud of worldliness.
Jesus, I trust in You! because You indeed have given me every reason, every proof, every good work and every good word, and so much more to trust in You with all my heart—Your love and your grace are truly and simply enough.
